Mark R. Turney

Pneumatology: A Missional Study of the Holy Spirit approaches the study of the Spirit from a unique biblical perspective. It is a missional pneumatology, focusing on the central role of the Holy Spirit in fulfilling the missio Dei, the mission of God. God’s mission is to call to himself a people out of every tribe, language, and nation on earth. This book presents the Holy Spirit as “God’s Missionary Spirit.” The text shows how the Spirit of God stands ready to empower believers and enables them to participate effectively in God’s mission. Emphasis is given to the essential role of the baptism in the Holy Spirit in transforming believers into powerful witnesses for Christ. Biblical directives and examples show how every Christian can effectively minister in the power of the Holy Spirit as did Jesus and His first disciples.
